Sam, Jordan and I headed up for a sunset session on Mount Evans. We made great time so we decided to have a quick beer at the TommyKnocker Brewery in Idaho Springs.
Following the beverages, the session began at a lake nestled among the pines with Mount Evans towering high above. The lighting was beautiful, and as the sun began to dip below the trees we hopped in the car to head to higher elevation.
On the drive up the pine trees gave way to grasses and boulders that had spilled down from the high peaks above. We had about thirty minutes of perfect light as the sun’s rays splashed over the mountain tops and gave the tundra an orange glow.
As the sun slowly dipped behind the peaks, the temperature quickly dropped. We piled back into the car and headed towards Denver after a successful evening!
